Strong Mind. Strong Body.

From a young age, we hear about the importance of physical activity. Parents always encourage children to go outside and play. Schools have started to pay more attention to the importance of staying active and students are signing up for after school activities whether it be dance classes, swimming lessons, hockey or soccer.

All these activities are great for physical health and mental development, but boxing offers something that most sports don’t. Here are some of the main benefits:

  • Increases overall athleticism, coordination, endurance and agility.
  • Increases physical strength and discipline (training both the body and mind).
  • Gives you the ability to defend yourself (self-defense is always important)!

In addition to these skills, research shows that children who grow up doing physical activities in team settings helps them build strong interpersonal skills. This participation promotes psychological well-being, the development of empathy and enhanced leadership skills.

There is a saying in Latin, mens sana in corpore sano which translates to “a healthy mind in a healthy body” and this is what boxing embodies. At Urban Legends, we give the opportunity to your children to build a strong confident mind which will naturally transfer into how they value themselves and will assist in their ability to achieve life goals.
